A work of mine that illustrates the five senses in the order an infant would gradually feel--touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight--which inspired me to create the piece of music.
Conceived as a performance-led electronic music piece, the work explores my ongoing fascination with newborns’ first encounter with the world. I am glad I could realise it in my preferred musical language, granting the piece integrity and reflecting my authentic artistic voice.
I oversaw the full creation of this work: composition, arrangement, mixing, visuals and video recording. Music production utilised Ableton Live 12 Suite, Digitakt 2 sampler and VCV Rack. Interactive visuals were built in TouchDesigner, reacting to low-frequency audio. Filming took place at Cashmere Studio, Shanghai.
